Under new Legislation laws, as a tenant, you need to ensure your leased home is fitted with working Photoelectric Smoke Alarms. These alarms are required to be located in every bedroom and in a hallway connecting the bedrooms.
If you are a tenant of a rented property, please make sure that all concerns or issues relating to your smoke alarms are directed to your landlord or Real Estate Property Manager. It is important that the tenant/s do not remove or cover the smoke detector. This will interfere with its effectiveness.
Ensure there is no activity or conditions that would reduce the effectiveness of the residential smoke alarm.
